A sight-fishing skiff has to move quietly, pole efficiently, provide a clean casting platform, and operate in extremely shallow environments. The 2025 Sabine VersaLite was built around those requirements.

Built to Go Shallow
The Texas marsh is not deep water. Redfish tail in inches, push through grass, and hold in places that most boats simply cannot reach.
Sabine designed the VersaLite around shallow draft and efficient poling — the hull geometry is optimized to move through skinny water without disturbing it. That access is the starting point for everything else that happens on a guided trip.

Quiet Matters
Redfish spook. When you're within casting range of a tailing fish, the skiff needs to stop making noise.
Sabine specifically engineered its poling skiffs to minimize hull slap and to track straight while poling — so Cam can move the boat quietly and hold position without fighting the hull. When it's time to rotate the angler for a cast, the skiff responds without a fight.

Room to Make the Cast.
The VersaLite's open bow gives the angler room to see fish, manage fly line, and execute a cast without clutter getting in the way.
Everything on this boat comes back to one moment: the angler in position, the fish in range, one good shot. The layout is built around that.

Custom propeller
A custom propeller selected as part of the shallow-water drivetrain. Propeller choice affects how the engine loads, how the hull planes, and how the boat handles in the conditions it was built for.
Bob's Hydraulic Jack Plate
Hydraulic outboard positioning
A hydraulic jack plate allows vertical adjustment of the outboard's position relative to the transom. On a shallow-water skiff, this is a meaningful tuning tool for configuring how the hull runs.

Trim tabs adjust the running attitude of the hull — useful for balancing the skiff as load and conditions change, and for dialing in how the boat comes onto plane.

18 Feet with a Purpose
The VersaLite is not a general-purpose boat. The 68" beam is relatively narrow by design. The layout prioritizes an open casting area, a poling platform, rod storage, and access to shallow water.
This is Cam's working platform. It exists to find fish, quietly get within casting range, position the angler, and make the shot possible.
